Natural centre of the North biosphere reserve

Have you ever thought about how much you know about nature and the environment around you? Does the thought of knowing the plants that grow all around you ever cross your mind, while walking along a trail in a meadow or in the beach?

The head of the Natural centre of the North biosphere reserve will help you to find the answers to these questions and will invite you to learn many new things.

Visitors have the opportunity to learn - to acquire and strengthen the knowledge of specially protected nature territories and our stony seacoast of Vidzeme in an interactive way - through games and laughter in the Nature education centre.

Nature education and research activities about the surrounding natural values take place both – inside and outside of the nature education centre. Specific nature studies equipment, worksheets and games are used in the study process as well as various thematic activities are organized for wider audiences, which is particularly interesting for families with children, because these events are interesting for both - large and small nature lovers.

Nature centre actively cooperate with the schools of the region. After an advance registration the centre is open for visitors in groups and individually.

The entrance is free.

Group visits need to be registered in advance.

For activities we ask you to apply groups of no more than 25-30 people. For some activities the number of participants should be less.
